Ecclesia Dei Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos Lauded Sheilding of Admitted Sex Predator from Justice

April 16, 2010

Cardinal Hoyos is a rabbi in cardinal’s clothing. Why do I say this? Because he attempts to hang his talmudic casuistry from St. Paul, according to which it’s virtuous for a bishop to shield an admitted sex predator priest from the punishment he deserves. The real basis for his pharisaic anti-morality is the Talmud of Babylon:

Israel is not to be accused of pederasty. (Babylonian Talmud, Kiddushin 82a)

Would you care to join the neotraditionalists in assisting at a Latin Mass offered by this villain in Washington D.C. next week? I’m certain that the vestments and rubrics will be flawless. And while there’s no guarantee that your children will be safe there, you can be fully assured that the liturgy and sermon will be free of any offenses to the tender sensibilities of “our brothers, the sons of Abraham.”

Cardinal hailed bishop for hiding predator priest: report

(Reuters) – A Vatican cardinal in charge of clergy around the world congratulated a French bishop in a 2001 letter for not denouncing a sexually abusive priest to the police, according to a French website on Thursday.

The letter posted by Golias, a critical lay Roman Catholic magazine based in Lyon, is the most explicit of a wave of recently published internal church documents in showing past Vatican encouragement to cover up sexual abuse by priests.

In the letter dated Sept 8, 2001, Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos backed French Bishop Pierre Pican’s decision not to denounce a priest who was later sentenced to 18 years in jail for repeated rape of a boy and sexual assaults on 10 others.

Under fire in recent weeks for its secretive handling of abuse cases, the Vatican has insisted the fact that other published documents did not explicitly instruct bishops to inform police of abuse did not prove it told them to hide it.

Vatican spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi did not dispute the letter’s content but said it confirmed “how opportune it was to centralize treatment of cases of sexual abuse of minors by clerics under the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.”

The then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict, instructed Catholic bishops around the world on May 18, 2001 to report all case of clerical sexual abuse of minors to the Congregation, the top Vatican doctrinal office that he headed.

Pican, who received a suspended three-month jail sentence for not denouncing sexual abuse of minors, admitted in court he had kept Rev. Rene Bissey in parish work despite the fact the priest had privately admitted committing pedophile acts.

The case shocked France and prompted its bishops to declare that all abuse cases must be reported to civil authorities.

“I congratulate you for not denouncing a priest to the civil administration,” Castrillon Hoyos said. “You have acted well and I am pleased to have a colleague in the episcopate who, in the eyes of history and of all other bishops in the world, preferred prison to denouncing his son and priest.”

BISHOPS NOT REQUIRED TO INFORM POLICE

In it, the cardinal said relations between bishops and priests were not simply professional but had “very special links of spiritual paternity.” Bishops therefore had no obligation to testify against “a direct relative,” he stated.

The letter cited Vatican documents and an epistle of Saint Paul to bolster its argument about special bishop-priest links.

“To encourage brothers in the episcopate in this delicate domain, this Congregation will send copies of this letter to all bishops’ conferences,” Castrillon Hoyos wrote.

A staunch conservative from Colombia, the cardinal headed the Vatican department for priests from 1996 to 2006. From 2000 to 2009, he also ran a commission dealing with traditionalist rebels who broke from Rome in 1988 and were excommunicated.

He conducted the talks that led to the January 2009 decision to readmit the four banned bishops of the Society of Saint Pius X to the Church, which caused an uproar when it emerged that one of them, Richard Williamson, had denied the Holocaust.

The controversy was highly embarrassing to Pope Benedict, who said he did not know about Williamson’s views, even though they could easily be found on the internet.

Two months after the incident, Benedict folded Castrillon Hoyos’s commission into the Congregation and the cardinal retired.

On Thursday the pope said the church had to do penance for its sins, in a rare public reference to the pedophilia scandal.

In Light of Recent Events …

April 10, 2010

Israel is not to be accused of pederasty. (Babylonian Talmud, Kiddushin 82a)

It’s worth recalling Ratzinger’s talmudic attitude vis a vis investigation into the Church’s horrific sex predator problem by am haaretz:

In 2002 Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, slaps ABC reporter Brian Ross when asked about pederast founder of the Legionaries “of Christ” Marcial Maciel

It seems, now that “the brothers in the faith” have pretty much all they need from the Vatican, there’s little left to bargain with for media protection. I doubt Benedict’s effeminate hand slaps can stem the outrage he deserves to face now.

I propose that “Church militant” “traditionalists” who heed the call to “defend the ‘holy father'” against “his attackers” ask themselves a simple question: if “the holy father” is able to change ancient Catholic tradition and teaching to suit “the brothers in the faith” in a matter of weeks and months, then why, even after decades pass, is it not possible to protect the souls of Catholic children from sex predators in “the holy father’s” employ?

CRITICAL

A reader has written the following comment on the last blog posting regarding Rabbi Shear-Yashuv “Cohen,” who was invited by Benedict XVI to lead a one-day discussion on the rabbinic interpretation of biblical scripture at the upcoming bishops synod:

Hi Maurice,

Rabbi Cohen might keep going to teach noachism to the bishops as he did already:

Papal Commission Promotes Noahide Laws

This is a critical point which I failed to make. Rabbi Shear-Yashuv “Cohen,” in addition to being a Chief Rabbi of counterfeit Israel, is also a co-chairman of the Israeli-Vatican dialogue commission alongside Cardinal Jorge Mejía. At the last (seventh) meeting of this rabbi-Vatican commission in March 2007 the true purpose of the commission was revealed: the introduction of the non-biblical, rabbi-concocted “Noahide laws” into the dialogue. Incredibly, the bishops of the commission acknowledged the “Noahide laws” and signed a document to this effect which included a sentence which implies that the New Testament book of the Acts of the Apostles includes these “Noahide Laws.” Rabbi Shear-Yashuv “Cohen,” the man who Benedict XVI has invited to teach the bishops how to interpret scripture at the upcoming synod, was a co-signer of this document. Read it at the Vatican’s website at the following link.

http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/pontifical_councils/chrstuni/relations-jews-docs/rc_pc_chrstuni_doc_20070313_commissione-bilaterale_en.html

I have been attempting to draw attention to this document from the time it was first signed in March 2007 HERE and have had little success in doing so. It seems that there are more important things on Catholics’ minds, papal vestments and the like, than bishops and rabbis together promoting the diabolical lie that the Talmudic “Noahide laws” were taught by the Apostles to Gentile converts in the Book of Acts. The document linked to above is proof that Rabbi Shear-Yashuv “Cohen” interprets scripture in this way, along with bishops who signed the document. Now, Benedict XVI has invited this “Noahide law” peddling rabbi to speak further on his interpretation of scripture at a synod of over 200 bishops.

Putting the sarcasm of the last posting aside, it is not the duty of any Orthodox rabbi to teach real Orthodox Judaism to non-Judaic people. His responsibility to Orthodox Judaism is to teach “Gentiles” the “Noahide laws.” Orthodox Judaism is only for “Jews.” This is the true essence of “dual-covenant” theology, it’s a system of double-standards–Judaism for “Jews,” “Noahide laws” for everyone else.

Will this continue to be ignored or suppressed by every Catholic pundit? Is silence the proper response to such unspeakable Vatican treachery? What good are conservative vestments and rubrics if the people wearing those vestments sell us out to a “dual-covenant” “Noahide” tyranny?

Vatican to Move Rabbinic Subversion Beyond the Clergy and Into the Pews

Xavier University Representatives to Attend Catholic-Jewish Relations Conference at Vatican
10/16/2007 – PST

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Catholic PRWire

CINCINNATI, OH, OCTOBER 16, 2007 – Xavier University President Michael J. Graham, S.J., and Rabbi Abie Ingber, director for Hillel at Xavier, along with a group of Xavier representatives will travel to Rome to attend the First Lay Conference on Catholic-Jewish relations at the Vatican, October 21-25.

The other members of the Xavier group include: James Buchanan, director for Edward B. Brueggeman Center for Dialogue; Art Shriberg, professor of management and entrepreneurship; Jewish student Michael Loban; and Catholic student Maggie Meyer.

The conference’s goal, Ingber says, is to move bridge-building beyond the clergy and “into the pews.” The discussion will revolve around identifying areas of “commonality and divide” between the traditions. Lay leaders from 18 U.S. cities will attend, hopefully laying the groundwork for a network to share ideas and programming. Participants will also meet with high-ranking Church officials at the Vatican to create a greater understanding of issues between the two faiths.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us at Xavier, especially our students,” said Graham. “Exploring and discussing the many aspects of our two traditions at such a grassroots level is so important for our future as people of faith.”

“Our hope is we can come back to the U.S. and continue these relationships and perhaps even expand it to include lay leaders from the Muslim community,” Ingber says. “If you get good at bridge building, there are lots of rivers to cross.”

The conference is sponsored by the Interreligious Information Center (IIC) of which Ingber is vice president. Through research, academic exchanges, educational programs, media outreach, IIC develops projects and activities to enhance greater understanding of faiths and religion in our society. IIC works will all major faith groups.

Beyond the dialogue, the group will present a Menorah to Pope Benedict. The Menorah is a replica of one Ingber helped install at the Vatican in observance of Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) in 1999. Replicas have also been presented to the late Pope John Paul II and Father Graham. The group will also meet with Cardinal Walter Kasper, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and Jerzy Kluger, Pope John Paul II’s closest Jewish friend. They also plan to visit the Great Synagogue of Rome.

World Jewish Congress Delegation Meets Benedict XVI at Vatican

October 9, 2007

The WJC is pressing the Vatican to punish those who uphold 2000 years of Church teaching on Judaism.

Leader of World Jewish Congress Thanks Pope

Notes 4 Decades of Progress in Relationship

VATICAN CITY, OCT. 9, 2007 (Zenit.org).- The president of the World Jewish Congress thanked Benedict XVI for everything he has done for the Jewish people over the past decades.

Ronald Lauder met with the Pope on Monday, accompanied by Michael Schneider, secretary-general of the World Jewish Congress.

The Jewish leaders’ talk with the Holy Father focused on “interreligious dialogue and on anti-Semitism in a number of European countries,” according to a press release issued by the congress. The Pontiff said that the issue of Catholic-Jewish relations was very close to his heart.

According to the press release, “Lauder said that the repeated anti-Semitic statements by the Polish priest Tadeusz Rydzyk, owner of the ultraconservative Catholic station Radio Maryja, should not be tolerated any more.”

Lauder, the son of Estée Lauder and a former U.S. ambassador to Austria, called on the Pontiff to take strong action against those in the Church who want to do damage to what the press release called a “close and positive relationship between Christians and Jews.”

The Jewish leaders also spoke of the possibility of joint initiatives on social welfare issues in poorer countries. They further discussed the importance of dialogue with moderate Muslims in order to ensure a peaceful future.

They emphasized the need to work together to strengthen further the relationship between the Jewish people and the Holy See. “We have made such great progress over the last four decades that it should be possible to work even more closely together,” Lauder pointed out.

On Sunday evening, Lauder and Schneider hosted a dinner attended by a number of cardinals, ambassadors to the Vatican and officials engaged in interreligious dialogue.

WJC Delegation Meets Pope in Vatican

by Nissan Ratzlav-Katz

The WJC statement said that the delegates “called on the Pontiff to take action against those in the Church who wanted to do damage to the close and positive relationship between Christians and Jews.”

“Anti-Semitic statements by the Polish priest Tadeusz Rydzyk, owner of the ultra-conservative Catholic station Radio Maryja should not be tolerated any more,” Lauder told the Pope. Radio Maryja and the affiliated television station Trwam are watched and listened to by millions of Poles.

The delegates included WJC President Ronald S. Lauder, WJC Secretary-General Michael Schneider and WJC Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Maram Stern. The WJC visit to Vatican City included a dinner on Sunday evening hosted by Lauder and Schneider, which was attended by cardinals, ambassadors to the Vatican, and other officials. On Monday, the WJC representatives met in private with Pope Benedict.

In addition, the WJC delegates discussed with the Catholic leader the threat posed to the Jewish people, Israel and the West by the Islamic Republic of Iran …

… Lauder then invited Pope Benedict to host a “joint event” when a Vatican delegation visits the United States next year.
