Catholic School Teachers Programmed to "Bear Witness" to Holocaustolatry

“Advanced” Holocaustolatry:

In Israel, Catholic School Teachers Study Anti-Semitism & the Holocaust

New York, NY, July 30, 2009 … Catholic school teachers from around the country traveled to Israel to learn about anti-Semitism and the Holocaust as part of the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) nationally acclaimed Bearing Witness Advanced program.

Bearing Witness Advanced provides educators with an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of Israel against the backdrop of Jewish history, the Holocaust and Catholic-Jewish relations.

“Combining experts’ knowledge of the Holocaust with the words of those who experienced it can have a unique and powerful impact,” said Dr. Ed S. Alster, ADL’s Director of Education. “The teachers learned firsthand how anti-Semitism can lead to tragedy if left unchecked. The experience should enable them to convey these lessons to their students more effectively.”

At Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority, the teachers heard from Holocaust survivors, historians and pedagogical experts. They also visited Christian and Jewish holy sites, and met with interfaith experts. To lend a contemporary sense of Israel, the group traveled around the country, and met with authors, journalists and political analysts.

To prepare for the trip, the educators attended an introductory seminar at Seton Hall University with Holocaust and anti-Semitism experts.

The 19 participants in the 2009 Bearing Witness Advanced seminar hailed from Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. All are graduates of regional ADL Bearing Witness programs.

Since its inception, Bearing Witness has trained more than 1,000 Catholic school educators across the country. In 1998 it became an ADL nationally sponsored program and ADL regional offices began replicating the initiative in 2002. Bearing Witness is endorsed by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.

Tisha B’Av: Just a Thought

July 29, 2009

With the arrival of Tisha B’Av (the 9th day of the 11th month of the Hebrew calendar) which is traditionally held as a day of great catastrophe in Judaism, perhaps it’s worth considering whether it’s a mere coincidence that the day of venahafoch hu (reversal, turning around of circumstances) for Zionism came on the catastrophic 11th day of the 9th month of the Gregorian calendar 2001:

Asked [the night of September 11, 2001] what the attack meant for relations between the United States and Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the former prime minister, replied, “It’s very good.” Then he edited himself: “Well, not very good, but it will generate immediate sympathy.” He predicted that the attack would “strengthen the bond between our two peoples, because we’ve experienced terror over so many decades, but the United States has now experienced a massive hemorrhaging of terror.” (James Bennet, “A DAY OF TERROR: THE ISRAELIS; Spilled Blood Is Seen as Bond That Draws 2 Nations Closer,” New York Times, September 12, 2001)

http://www.nytimes.com/2001/09/12/us/day-terror-israelis-spilled-blood-seen-bond-that-draws-2-nations-closer.html

The Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv on Wednesday reported that Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu told an audience at Bar Ilan university that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks had been beneficial for Israel.

“We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq,” Ma’ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events “swung American public opinion in our favor.”

Netanyahu reportedly made the comments during a conference at Bar-Ilan University on the division of Jerusalem as part of a peace deal with the Palestinians. (“Report: Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel,” Haaretz, April 18, 2008)

Some Terrorist Cells are More Equal than Others

July 26, 2009

Great. Paranoid yidden receiving training from a foreign terrorist organization with automatic weapons in the U.S. The ‘settler’ movement has come full circle, back to New York.

If these Kitat Konenut ‘Jews’ were subjected to the same standards that Judaic organizations have created for Muslims, they would be identified as terrorists, indefinitely “detained” without rights as “unlawful enemy combatants,” humiliated and tortured for years on end as talmudized lawyers, politicians and shills explained that the torture they were subject to is not really torture.

IDF Vets Train U.S. Jews to Protect Their Communities

Maayana Miskin – Arutz Sheva

July 27, 2009

(IsraelNN.com) Starting in late July, a group of Israeli combat veterans will be holding a training camp in New York to teach advanced self-defense techniques to Jews in U.S. communities. An increasing number of American Jews have expressed interest in the program following a wave of anti-Semitic incidents worldwide over the past year, organizers report.

The group calls itself Kitat Konenut New York – a reference to the “rapid response teams” active throughout Judea and Samaria. Rapid response teams in Israel, comprised of local civilians who are IDF veterans, have often been the first on the scene of terrorist attacks and other emergencies, and have prevented casualties.

It was founded in 2006 in response to a shooting attack at a Jewish center in Seattle, Washington. One woman was murdered in the attack, and several others were wounded.

The group is apolitical, and does not take part in demonstrations. “Our agenda is to protect Jews,” says group member Yonatan Stern. However, the group does have a firmly held political belief. “We believe in the constitutional right to bear arms,” Stern says. Kitat Konenut encourages all American Jews to learn how to use weapons, and to purchase their own firearms for self-defense.

Trainees learn the IDF’s unique martial arts style, known as Krav Maga, and learn to identify suspicious objects and dismantle improvised explosives. They are also trained to use a variety of both non-lethal and lethal weapons, including assault rifles and sniper rifles. Trainers review techniques to deal with situations ranging from knife fights to urban warfare.

Training this year will begin on July 31 and conclude on August 9.

‘Truth’ Synthesized Dialogically

July 25, 2009

In SSPX Fr. Scott’s commentary on Pope Benedict’s recent misnamed encyclical, Caritas in Veritate, inter alia, he offers the following insight:

Here is the Pope’s definition of truth, playing on the Greek expression for the Word (of God): “Truth, in fact, is lógos which creates diá-logos, and hence communication and communion.” Truth requires communication with others’ truth. The very next sentence explains what he means by communication, namely if a person is not willing to let go of his personal opinions, he cannot have the truth: “Truth, by enabling men and women to let go of their subjective opinions and impressions, allows them to move beyond cultural and historical limitations and to come together in the assessment of the value and substance of things” (§4). Without such a sharing with others there is no truth, for man is isolated in his “subjective opinions.” (Fr. Scott, “HUMANIST MANIFESTO: A commentary on the encyclical Caritas in veritate”)

I have suggested in the past that those who seek to know the origin of Benedict’s (and many other bishops’, particularly Cardinal Kasper) foreign concept of “dialogue” must look to the writings of hasidic philosopher Martin Buber (and the Bal Shem Tov and other kabbalists Buber’s thinking was derived from), who Benedict and Kasper have both plainly said is a major influence.

see:

Benedict XVI: Dialogue With the People of the Talmud a “Sacred Duty”

Walter Kasper’s Mentor: Hassidic Philosopher, Martin Buber

The Dialogical Path Towards Disaster

The Gospel tells us Jesus taught as one having authority. The Truths of Jesus’ teachings weren’t arrived at through ‘dialogue’ with Pharisees as a means of “moving beyond cultural and historical limitations.” Neither do we see such an example in the Apostles or the Church fathers. Benedict is preaching an anti-Gospel. He’s claiming a “sacred” mandate to get us seated at the table with the lawyers so that they can defraud us with their word magic. There is no example for “sacred dialogue” in the Church canon. Beware these hasidic teachings of Benedict XVI. They lead to ruin.

No Comment From Vatican on Orthodox Union’s IDF Inciting Blood Libel

July 25, 2009

The disparity between Vatican silence on this matter and the anathemas against “the ‘Holocaust’ denying bishop” is remarkable. Where are the calls for accountability and “teshuva”? Catholic-‘Jewish’ relations operates by the ridiculous double standards of Orthodox Judaism, not the universal standards of Christianity. It’s clear that the safety of Christians in the ‘holy’ land is subservient to the maintenance of the elder brothers delusion which would have been shattered from the very beginning if the Vatican didn’t cover up another elder brother ‘indiscretion’ as this one.

Israel stops distributing booklet claiming Vatican-Hezbollah ties

Jul 24, 2009

JERUSALEM (CNS) – Booklets claiming that the Vatican helped organize tours of the Auschwitz concentration camp for Hezbollah members to teach them how to wipe out Jews were distributed to Israeli soldiers for several months before Israeli military officials suspended the distribution.

Auschwitz, in southern Poland, was a Nazi extermination center during World War II. Hezbollah is a militant Islamic group in Lebanon.

The booklet in question was received as a donation and was distributed on good faith as a gift for soldiers, the Ha’aretz English daily newspaper reported July 19.

Titled “On Both Sides of the Border,” the booklet was published by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America with the cooperation of Safed Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliahu, according to Ha’aretz.

When attention was focused on the contents of the booklet, its distribution was suspended immediately, the Israel Defense Forces said in an official statement following the newspaper’s report.

The Israel Defense Forces did not respond to questions submitted by Catholic News Service.

The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations in Israel also declined comment. Archbishop Antonio Franco, apostolic nuncio to Israel, was out of the country and could not be reached for comment.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs had not received any complaints from the Vatican or the nunciature about the incident, spokesman Andy David said.

The booklet is purported to be the story of one Hezbollah fighter who had been close to Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah and who converted to Judaism. It describes Hezbollah’s supposed close relationship with the Vatican and European leaders. The booklet describes an official visit to the concentration camp led by officials from the Vatican.

“We knew (the pope) identified with Hezbollah’s struggle,” the man is quoted as saying in the booklet, Ha’aretz reported.

The booklet does not specify to which pope he is referring.

“I think everyone knows this (claim) is bogus,” David said.
